Defined STEM - Using Math to Control an Animal’s Diet

Objective :
Students will explore how zoologists use math to control an animal’s diet.
Guiding Questions :

Video : Moorpark Zoo 3: Sea Lion Training and Feeding
Sea lion and trainer perform their daily routine of exercise and tricks during which fish is fed to sea lion. Can include discussion of the three types of fish the sea lion is fed each day. (4 pounds of smelt, 2 pounds of squid, 1 pound of special fish.) Can also include sea lion being weighed on a scale. (180 lbs.)
