Defined STEM - Science and Forest Fires

Objective :
Students will study forest fires; their causes, how they're fought, their impact on the environment and on the timber business. Students will examine how foresters work to prevent forest fires and how they respond once a fire has taken place.

For Tami Sabol, the forest is her office. As a Forester for Plum Creek Timber Company, she is responsible for the health of hundreds of thousands of acres of trees. Using math and science is a routine part of her work.
